Top 10 Movies of 2018

This was one of the worst years for movies in recent memory. A couple of the movies on the list below would not have appeared on my top 25 list for previous years. There were, however, a few notable exceptions. Paddington 2 was every bit as good as the original, which was exceptional, and The Death of Stalin the best dark political satire since Wag the Dog. Annihilation is by far the most philosophically unsettling sci-fi I’ve seen in a long time.
